After the end of Kottayam Raja’s Era, the attention
given to this temple had weakened and consequently the temple
started to get ruined.
In view of reconstruction of the temple with glory, “Haindava
Bajan Samithy” was established in the year 1970. Ever
since the formation of “Haindava Bajan Samithy”
the renovation works has become an ongoing process. Apart
from that, the celebration of Annual festival and “Aazhipooja
festivals” are conducted every year in a most befitting
manner.
As a part of the current renovation program, Haindava Bajan
Samithy has constructed two buildings with the wholehearted
co-operation of two personalities.
Dr.V.Bhaskaran donated a spacious building named as “Shashtipoorthi
Mandap” and
Sri. K.G.Narayana Achari donated “Kalyan Mandap”.
Bajan Samithy had also acquired one acre of land on the bank
of Kanhirapuzha River, where a stage with open auditorium
has been constructed.
The construction of a concrete footbridge across Kanhirapuzha
River is also an achievement, which is very helpful for the
pilgrims in the rainy season.
Yearly celebrations of “Kshetrolsav” and Poojas
were conducted at the aforesaid one acre of land. As the number
of pilgrims increased year by year the celebrations are now
being conducted in an adjacent private property.
For the full-fledged development of the temple, it is intended
to own this private land of 3.5 acres. We have approached
the owner of the property and he has consented to sell the
property to Bajan Samithy. We have entered into an agreement
with the owner for the purchase of the plot within a very
short period.
Along with the above plan, the rejuvenation of the temple
and the “Punaprathishta” of the idol are also
to be done.
For fulfilling these objectives the Haindava Bajan Samithy
requires the wholehearted cooperation and support from all
the people.
